Thanks, and, yes, bands like skinny puppy and frontline assembly are also two 
good examples of the type of thing mean, along with bands like front242, and 
those two samples posted were disturbed and korn.

  Hey. Interesting question. Well groups like Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, 
and many, many others did a lot of experimentation to get the effects they 
wanted. methinks you should do the same. Ring moedulation, chorus, vocoder, all 
these things would certainly help. All I can say is play around lots until you 
have a sound that you think is dark and twisted enough!

    While am pretty sure you could accomplish these types of vocal effects 
using something like a combination of vocoder, and/or types of distortion, am 
not exactly sure where to begin, or what to try out, but, here are two small 
samples of the type of thing am talking about from two relatively well-known, 
sort of industrial/alternative bands of the type of vocal effect am trying to 
figure out how to obtain - and, yes, I know the overall sound also has 
something to do with their singing style, but still:
