Hello Daveed. It is quite possible to use Audacity without the JAWS scripts, but they enhance the experience considerably by providing extra verbal feedback that a sighted user would get from the screen, and also more shortcut keystrokes that a sighted user might use the mouse for. If this is the first time you have used Audacity I would highly recommend the latest scripts as they will help you learn the program and its features more quickly. Give it a try.
