Hey,
I have being using TMK with a modified qwerty layout since I have assembled
the board at the end of January 2017. My keymap just disables some keys for
now and enables some double action keys to make easier move from the
Kinesis Advantage to Atreus and back without effort. Nothing fancy.
I have migrated to QMK on mid August because of multimedia keys on Mac
doesn't work with TMK. The migration was really easy and now I have volume
up, down and play/pause working on layer 2.
QMK documentation and sample layouts are good and easy to understand. It
was easier for me than TMK, however the comparison isn't fair as TMK was my
first experience with keyboard firmware.
I use the board every day for work and it has been performing great with
both firmwares in daily typing. The worst of Atreus is that my Kinesis
board is piling up dust. :-)

just more pleasant.

I still have not found a good solution for the ctrl+shift+c shortcut.

Hm; I could have sworn TMK has that as well, but that highlights another
big difference: the docs for QMK are dramatically better. That counts
for a lot.
I'll give it a try on my own board and see how it goes. Definitely
interested in hearing from others who have tried it.
