With this I heartily agree.  While SLS has not yet died of its own weight, conspicuously framing one's own project as rendering SLS uselessly uneconomic is a good way to get one's funding targeted. As witness the wilderness that depot and propellant transfer advocates have wandered in for this last decade and more.

SLS does quite good enough a job on its own of rendering itself hopelessly uneconomic.  And if one must discuss the matter, far better to frame it as, once SLS has inevitably collapsed of its own mass of problems, what will be useful to enable NASA carrying on?
