I am currently using a PandaLand 32G SD card in my Pandaboard ES, with OSupg2beta (06-Sep-2013) and I have just upgraded to ArminiXsp3 (24-Oct-2013). This gives me RISC OS 5.19 (06-Jul-2013) and the shutdown and restart (CTRL-SHIFT-f12) gives me a window offering the 'Are you sure you want to shut the computer down?' window with 'Restart', 'Shutdown' and 'Cancel' as the options. Choosing 'Restart' does, indeed, cause the Pandabaord to do a power-on restart. All is therefore well. The files in !Boot.Loader are as follows: MLO 13:01:08 27-Feb-2012 23 kbytes - see below U-BOOT/BIN 15:06:48 31-Mar-2012 241 kbytes - PandaOS1= CG's pandaboot BOOT/SCR 11:53:52 25-Mar-2012 152 bytes - reqd? but not supplied riscos 17:22:38 06-Jul-2013 4 Mbytes - see below cmos 09:47:28 08-Nov-2013 2052 bytes MLO1200 13:01:08 27-Feb-2012 23 kbytes - PandaOS1= CG's pandaboot MLO1500 08:08:20 06-Apr-2012 24 kbytes - ex CG's pandaboot riscos521 04:26:02 03-Sep-2013 4 Mbytes - ROOL inc. SR) Info 16:34:06 06-Sep-2013 1650 bytes - to tell me all this I thought that I shouldtry to get back to a 'standard' set-up but if I rename or delete the file 'BOOT.SCR' (which was originally provided and contains the commands: 'RISC OS PandaBoard boot script' fatload mmc 0:1 0x4030C000 cmos fatload mmc 0:1 0x81000000 riscos go 0x81000000 which start up the Pandaboard with RISC OS) then nothing happens when I power on. OK let's leave that as it is for the moment. I then upgraded the firmware using Chris Gransden's pandaboot.zip (http://www.cgransden.co.uk/downloads.html) so that I have added the following files (the others are already up to date): preEnv/txt 12:15:52 17-Apr-2012 29 bytes contains the command preenvcmd=setenv bootdelay 0 uenv_cmos/txt 07:25:46 17-Apr-2012 100 bytes contains commands uenvcmd=fatload mmc ${mmcdev} 4030C000 cmos; fatload mmc ${mmcdev} ${loadaddr} riscos; go ${loadaddr} as files 'PREENV/TXT' and 'UENV/TXT'. I have also renamed the file 'BOOT.SCR' as '_BOOT.SCR' and all is working again (so that 'BOOT.SCR' is no longer required or used and I do now have a 'standard' set-up). I have also included the 'smartreflex' folder (from CG's pandaboot) in !Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk so that I can select whether the CPU is clocked up to 1500MHz or 1200MHz when working hard (the smartreflex driver over-rides the CPU speed setting initialised by 'MLO'). I have also updated !CPUTMon to version 2 which shows clock speed as well as CPU temeperature. The next step now is to try RISC OS 5.2x and so I tried the 03-Sep-2013 rom. This gives me RISC OS 5.21 (03-Sep-2013). When selecting CTRL-SHIFT-f12 I now get the message 'Your computer is ready to be switched off' offering just the one option 'Restart' which no longer works (the computer just freezes). So I have reverted to RISC OS 5.19 but it leaves me puzzled - why has something that worked been removed again? However on the plus side I have almost managed to get the sound working to my satisfaction (I use a module which provides various voices and I have had to reassemble this for the 96kHz sound on the Pandaboard) and it's almost right now (I'm still tinkering with it) and you can download it if you want to have a play http://www.svrsig.org/software/Organ.zip - it offers a simple synthesiser keyboard).
