This ROM is based on a recent snapshot of the main RISC OS repository, and
contains the new SDIO updates that improve SD performance on i.MX6 and
make the wifi module visible (*SDIOdevices).
So SDIODriver still reports itself as:
Module is: SDIODriver 0.16 (19 Jun 2021)
And SDIODevices shows:
Bus Slt RCA Fun Description Capacity Vendor Product Rev
Date
0 0 AAAA 0 SDXC card 119 Gbytes SanDisk SL128 8.0
2016-01
1 0 0001 1 SDIO non-standard function Broadcom 4330
1 0 0001 2 SDIO non-standard function Broadcom 4330
2 0 1234 0 SDHC card 7 Gbytes Toshiba SA08G 1.4
2015-07
HDSpeed test to a 128GB sdcard shows:
Byte access test, large file size = 8 Mb
Average random variation from baseline 5502%
Block Load/Save, large file size = 8 Mb
Average block variation from baseline 3652%
Overall average variation from baseline 4637%
Old ROM reports itself as:
03 Nov 2020
SDIODriver 0.16 (10 Aug 2019)
SDIODevices show:
Bus Slt RCA Fun Description Capacity Vendor Product Rev
Date
0 0 AAAA 0 SDXC card 119 Gbytes SanDisk SL128 8.0
2016-01
2 0 1234 0 SDHC card 7 Gbytes Toshiba SA08G 1.4
2015-07
HDSpeed test to a 128GB sdcard shows:
Byte access test, large file size = 8 Mb
Average random variation from baseline 5526%
Block Load/Save, large file size = 8 Mb
Average block variation from baseline 2781%
Overall average variation from baseline 4245%
So the method on the SDCard speed test was to run the test 3 times on the
old ROM and then 3 times on the new ROM and then take the middle speed of
each.
Other methods may be a better indicator as Dave Pitt has pointed out on
the ROOL forums.
This see different to the Pi4 tests I did.
You may also notice the PNG support in !Paint amongst other changes.
Yes a very nice addition.
Thanks
Doug
