Thanks for the replies, I guess the short answer is that there is no timeline
for wifi on this machine. I'll stick with it for a bit, but I feel a desktop
RISC OS machine might be a better idea for me anyway, as I find the screen too
small anyway, and the trackpad is a horror.

If the machine has a developed a fault then it has developed a fault. If
it is within warranty then, like anything else, a return to supplier is
indicated.
The ARMBook was supplied with the understanding that W-Fi did not work
under RISC OS but work was being undertaken to sort that out. My
understanding is that it is major work on multiple bits deep in the OS.
The work-around in the early days, mine is an early one, is using the USB
network adapter and a TP-LInk TL-WR702N Nano router as an access point.
