'Fraid not. Messages are threaded using the "In-Reply-to:" header,
and failing that the "References:" header.
Changing the subject doesn't start a new thread. You need to start
a new message from scratch ("New mail to group/new mail to sender"
in Messenger) and copy and paste from the old thread if necessary.
This post should appear as a new thread.

I don't think this works if you start as a reply to an
existing email. You have to start with a brand-new email.
Enter the subject and the address and, when posted, it will
appear unlinked to any previous thread.
So I did. No "speakers" were mentioned in my subject bar,
nor did I find this word among the (usually hidden)
header "kludges" of the message you complain about. David
I realy don't know why my message ended up in your
speaker thread, but my apologies for the inconvenience.
Don't beat yourself up about it. Most of us have
accidentally done it at some time or other - more than
once, probably. I'm fairly sure that's why Pluto and
Messenger Pro have the facility for unlinking.
