Fraid not. Messages are threaded using the "In-Reply-to:" header, and
failing that the "References:" header. Changing the subject doesn't start
a new thread. You need to start a new message from scratch ("New mail to
group/new mail to sender" in Messenger) and copy and paste from the old
thread if necessary.
