This is a remarkable offer from within the riscos community.
As a matter of interest, how do users of alternative letter sets such as
Cyrillic use them? Do you have to buy an alternative keyboard?
And what happens if you receive a message in such a script? How can the
computer be made to render in the appropriate font?
I don't believe these are "Unicode" fonts, so won't have extended
character sets. Unless they specifically state otherwise, assume the
standard RISC OS 256 character (8bit) set.
It is *possible* that some include other Latin etc variations, but this is
where things get a bit tricky with the old 8bit font manager vs newer
Unicode 16+ bit font manager. It is probably best to think of extended
character display needing Unicode fonts (such as DejaVu provided with the
ARMX6) [eg. in an email context], although I'm sure there were methods to
achieve it historically. Document interchange has necessitated the
standardisation of this, hence Unicode.
The best bet for obtaining more Unicode fonts tends to be to convert them
from TTF (Truetype) versions with the NetSurf-project-derived convertor.
