My ARMX6 is a fairly early one, so more recent models may have
changed, so that must be bourne in mind for my comments.
In my machine there are two separate internal hubs (powered). One of
them (I think, without opening the case) feeds the rear sochets and
the front sockets, the other supplies the DVD drive and the card
reader. There may be other things also connected. A while back I had
some problems with usb. The final diagnosis was that the hub
supplying the front and rear sockets was ailing. I purchased a
replacement from Andrew, and after fitting it in place of the suspect
one all the problems went away, and have not recurred.
The bottom line is - for cased machines, not only ARMX6 - do not
forget there may be a separate hub inside the case, and these can
sometimes begin to fail.
