Yes, but how do you issue that command if the computer isn't seeing the 
mouse and the keyboard?

I'm wondering whether it would be possible, and useful, to have some sort 
of watchdog process running all the time and forcing a USB kick if it sees 
nothing happening for, say, 5 seconds.
