Well, seems like Graeme will be not very surprised with what we are discussing here ...

the Argyllcms sRGB profile is part of the argyll software, which you
can download from the argyll website. It's in the "ref" folder. On
opensuse, if I install from the opensuse repository, it's in
/usr/share/color/argyll/ref. Not sure about other
distributions/operating systems.

Did lcms2 change their built-in sRGB, compared to lcms1?

First variant (the good one):
argyll
canon (and possibly nikon, based on Iliah's xicclu numbers)
RGB XYZ primaries exactly/almost exactly equal to this:
0.43604 0.22244 0.01390 0.38510 0.71693 0.09708 0.14307
  0.06062 0.71393

Second variant:
lcms website download: http://www.littlecms.com/1/downloads.htm
a twelve year old sRGB profile on a twelve year old Windows machine
showfoto
photivo
the two color.org V2 srgb profiles
Adobe icc profiles from Opensuse package
RGB XYZ primaries exactly equal to this:
0.43607 0.22249 0.01392 0.38515 0.71687 0.09708 0.14307
  0.06061 0.71410

Third variant, farthest from Argyllcms, different from lcms1:
an openicc sRGB profile:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/openicc/files/OpenICC-Profiles/
darktable
ufraw
cinepaint
rawstudio
rawtherapee
krita
RGB XYZ primaries exactly or almost exactly equal to these:
0.43585 0.22238 0.01392 0.38533 0.71704 0.09714 0.14302
  0.06059 0.71384

Where this third sRGB variant come from? Did lcms2 change the RGB XYZ
values for the built-in sRGB profile, compared to lcms1? Or is this
third variant strictly an openicc/oyranos variant?
