Yes, you should create a calibration (and profile) that gives a
visual match of the display white point with that of the prints,
so that you do side by side comparisons. Note that typically
it's good to match both the color and brightness of the white
point. Measuring the white point under their illuminant of the
prints can be a good start to getting the aim point, but don't
be afraid to tweak it for best visual match.
