Not really. It should work if you don't care a about setting
a specific absolute brightness, and as long as the effective
collection area is bigger than the pixel size.
(i.e. as far as I know the calibration built into the
module is valid for light entering the connector.)
But (image-engineerings) intended use was for examining light sources in
the field using ColorMeter.
