Hi,
it's quite usual for some display technologies to
change overall brightness in response to what's being displayed.
For instance, CRT, Plasma and OLED often have this behavior.
It's much less common for LCD bases displays, unless they
have some sort of dynamic backlight, or "power saver" mode.
None of this behavior is good for profiling accuracy, or
reproducible color.
The numbers you show aren't hugely variable in the scheme of
things though (delta L less than 1, something like 1.5 for a* and b*).
What sort of display is it ?
