It does!
Just to be thorough, I tried dispcal -q v as well. It successfully created the
.cal file, but segfaulted trying to release the port:
The instrument can be removed from the screen.

Any comments on these devices from the perspective of somebody who wants to
use them to measure color?
Overall my impression is that the i1Pro3 is a technical advance
on the previous instruments, and is a well made device.
Thanks for the review! Good to know I won’t suffer from instrument envy, and
that X-Rite is improving their gear.
You also gave me an idea for some of the camera / lens profiling stuff I’m
(slooooowly) working on. No reason I can’t make measurements with different
light sources….
