Hi Graeme,
thanks for your reply.
But the initial step is to attach (tag) your scanner images with thescanner profile.

Hi,
Is it in principle correct to create a linked profile with collink fromthe
scanner profile (created with scanin + colprof) as input profile and Adobeintent
1998 RGB profile or sRGB profile as output profile with the rendering
of my choice? Or have I misunderstood something completely?
that's one way of doing it, which results in best quality and most
flexibility.
But the initial step is to attach (tag) your scanner images with the scanner
profile.
You have now labelled the color space the images are in, and can proceed to
convert
them to other colorspaces using your CMM of choice, and application that are
color
aware will know how to properly interpret the pixel values of your scanner
files.
cheers,
Graeme Gill.
