Rodgers of that vintage usually have an air sound
control; sometimes there is a switch underneath the
console desk (slide switch) around the C above middle
C that turns the air sound on and off; if that switch
is there, try moving it from side to side; in the off
position the switch should make the hiss less
apparent.
If there is no on/off switch, the air sound may just
be set too high; the manual should indicate where the
adjustments are, and you can try adjusting for less
air sound.
The diapason keyers have an adjustment to reduce the
bleed through in the off state; try adjusting this to
reduce hiss.
Finally, the diode keyers used in Rodgers are somewhat
leaky, and there is some noise and hiss present even
when all the stops and keys are off--you just have to
live with that in general.
