Since you all had such great suggestions on how to solve Kens problems, I thought I'd try to get some info on how to get my 750BE in playable condition. When I got the organ there were no speakers with it & the church had no idea where they went (it hadn't been played in years.) I was almost ready to buy some when this happened: I had listed my Allen organ for sale on several of the online classified websites. On one of the sites under WANTED I had asked for some pipes to make a facade for the top of the Rodgers. One day I got an e-mail from the owner of DMP Classical Organs in CA. Has anyone ever heard of them? I hadn't.They make organs as well as player pianos. The gentleman had seen my ad and had something I might be interested in. In his warehouse in Texas he had the top of a Johannus organ which had beautiful polished tin pipes very artfully displayed in 5 "towers", 3 of which contained speakers!!! The church that bought the organ did'nt want the top.I was using the 4 large speakers from my Allen and the organ didn't sound good at all.My husband hooked up the tower and we couldn't believe the difference! It sounded like an entirely different instrument. The chiff was now audible which it wasn't before .Everything sounded better. Okay, now I've got great sound, except for: 1) there is a lot of speaker hiss. This may be due to:power cord too close to speaker wires.Or, the overall volume is way too loud.Or? (in case these things don't work) 2) It needs tuning. The more stops you add the flatter it sounds, especially when you put the mixture on top.I know it's going to cost a lot to have a Rodgers tech to come. The Rodgers dealers are in Tallahasee or Tampa, both of which are 3-4 hours from me.The tech from Jacksonville (2 1/2 hours away )doesn't work on Rodgers, only Allen. My husband has basic knowledge with electronics. We have the service manual. How difficult is it to lower the volume, tune & balance it? I'm sure he could do it if someone could walk him through it.Finally, my Allen ADC 2000 is still for sale. I got a lot of scam offers from the classifieds. Then I had it on E-bay and didn't get a single bid. There was another Allen with drawbars and large capture action going at the same time that got all the attention. So, if anyone knows of someone that needs a cheap practice organ, or a church, steer them my way.The ADC doesn't have much of a capture action, only 7 factory set presets X 2 memories plus the card reader. It has a nice sound, and really is ideal for a small church that just needs a basic instument for hymns, service music, small choir accomp., and preludes/postludes that your average volunteer small church organist could play.I would like to somewhere between 1500.& 2000. for it, but will consider all offers. Thanks for reading!!!
