Interestingly, there is not a single Republican on the list of
endorsements for the bill. I don't mean this as a criticism of
Republicans as much as an observation that this will likely be seen
as a partisan issue. Republicans will likely say, perhaps justly,
that it is unfair to characterize them as against peace. They will
probably claim that this is just another PR scheme to gather support
for a waning Democratic party.
. . . just some thoughts in light of our discussion earlier
concerning the role of politics in the Church.
