Hi Cindy. I don't have the XT; Big Red was made in 2004. I never sew on
the sides of the hats which is what the WACF allows. The CCF allows a taller
sewing field in the front. And without that metal band my fingers and thumbs
aren't nearly as sore after 2 dozen or so hats...!!
