Perhaps the problem is in the file you are trying to digitize? If you are
trying to digitize a .bmp file, try changing it to a .jpg first. No idea if
this would help but a .jpg should use less of your system memory.
I would also try opening a graphic that you have done before without problem
and try digitizing it again and see if the problem changes or goes away.
