While I've had no problem's networking my home/business (two hubs - 5
computers + 1 Playstion :)) with XP home, I'd probably go with XP pro.

On upgrading, I live with the philosophy "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
Upgrading older machines with the new OS can cause a significant slowdown
along with compatibility issues. Plus, if you back in the EDS III ages of
software (most likely not) it won't run on XP (either home or pro).

have fun.

We will be going into Denver for tech training within a month. We will
need to purchase a laptop before we go so we are told... Would some of you
share with us your experience with the operating system you are running. On
our computers at home, we have Windows 98SE on one in the office and Windows
2000 on the dedicated sewing room computer. If we upgrade to XP, is that
good? Bad? Any comments on other systems?
  Thanks,
  Sharon
