I personally don't use fabric markers. I know we have some around the shop, I just can't ever find them when I need 'em. So I've become accustomed to using stick pins. Just make sure it's a fabric than will hide the pin holes. I've also used things like scotch tape and masking tape. You know, the cheap kind that doesn't have really good adhesive. I'll put one horizontally and one vertically to create a cross-hairs effect referencing one edge of the tape strips. They tend not to leave anything behind. Be sure to test your tape in non-conspicuous place Ed Ed & Maralien Orantes E.M. We use it all the time with large jobs as well as small. I'm of the opinion that if we can take the variability out of the production then we will consistently do whatever we do the same (I've worked in the semiconductor industry too long! who use procedures, copy exactly programs, etc.) That way, when we get the repeat orders, hear that customers????, we are hooping the same way, same place for those as well. One suggestion regarding this is to put notes, notes, notes, notes into your DesignShop design!!!!! Make a note of what color you use, where you hoop, where you place the logo and anything else you can think of so that you will have a record for later on! We recently got a repeat order for 31 jackets after only doing 1 jacket for a father-in-law last Christmas and if they hadn't sent the original jacket back to us, we would've been up a creek because we didn't have notes! However, we have run up against the super thick CarHartt jacket where we had to pull out the trusty rulers. One note on the HoopMaster, we also have the what I call the cross-hair alignment tool for the 15 cm fixture. It works perfectly when aligning above a pocket. How about a suggestion on a removable fabric marker? I hate those white pencil type because I cannot get them out! Thanks! Thomas E.
