Roland,
Not all companies allow service on all ships. Most are charging around $3 per
minute for service but check with your carrier. Most carriers have disabled
international calling now so if you plan on using your phone, call your carrier
before you leave on the cruise and let them know. Don't forget to call them
when you get back to disable the international service. International calling
isn't cheap (most carriers are at least 99 cents per minute and it will not
fall in your allowed minutes.) Prices vary depending on what country you are
in. Some countries are about $8 per minute.
If you have a phone that auto updates like the iPhone, make sure you turn off
the auto-update feature because it will run on the ship and you will get billed
that $3 per minute even if you don't use it.
