Debbie, XT looks basically the same except for the sewing arm. It is perfectly round and is black in color. There are other differences but that one is the most visible. There is no flat surface on the top of the sewing arm Rod Springer Embroidery Cottage Rod & Sharon Springer Melco Amaya Tech & Trainer Design Shop Pro+ Digitizing Boise, ID 83713 208-938-3038 ----- Original Message ----- From: r.rinehartsr To: amayausers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 09, 2006 7:40 PM Subject: [amayausers] Re: Fw: gears not lining up Cheryl, I don't know if my Amaya is an XT or not. Is that a newer model? I purchased mine in September. Chapter 7 page 17 for the XT models has a brief explanation and pictures for greasing rollers. Page 7-18 shows a picture of a red roller coming off.(the illustration is not the best) Very gently raise the red pinch roller in question and its neighbor to the right. Now lower the roller in question a small amount. Gently pry off the pinch roller with sort of a pull at the top of the roller to the right, You must support the black arm by holding on to it as you pull in the opposite direction. This is so you don't break it. Still hanging on to the black arm that the red roller is attached to wiggle the pinch roller off, lubrication and replace. Good luck. cr Cheryl Rotter Team Sports Ink 5111 Grumann Dr. Ste #1B Carson City, NV 89706 775-884-3550 -----Original Message----- From: amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of r.rinehartsr Sent: Monday, January 09, 2006 4:59 PM To: amayausers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [amayausers] Re: Fw: gears not lining up This question is for Derise. You mentioned earlier today that I need to regrease the red pinch roller, so I got the manual out to get a look at the how to get the roller off and what type grease to apply, but they only said to check the red pinch roller for wear and install new ones when necessary, but no where did they mention to grease them. Was there an update on this that I missed? Today is my husbands first day of tech training at melco....you'd think he could have left his cell phone on for emergencies! I am sure I will be getting some info on this by tomorrow. I will let you all know what I was told. In the mean time...has anyone just kept working with their machine when this happened and everything was okay? I am a little nervous about it and don't want to cause any damage by turning the machine back on so the needle case can continue to move to the home needle which is #1. I have an XT. There is a loud clicking sound as the needle case moves from one needle to the next. This has happened before (unfortunately) but my husband was the one who fixed it. Unfortunately he is in Denver at Melco for training of all places and I never paid attention to what he did to rectify the situation! I have a job I have to get out asap and was hoping someone may have the info. for the "quick fix". Barbara Avalon Embroidery
