Colorado the titled stays with previous owner till one goes to DMV and
register. Cops often will take vin number and trace the car to figure what
happened. If they never get your name the dealer or previous owner name is on
it. If they trace it to you they will put in computer but still not
registered. Often on computer is only for Colorado and goes no further.
