Ok, you might also try selecting the View tab in the ribbon and ensure that print layout is checked. This seems to yield the best reading results. Also, JAWS will get tripped up by unusual formatting, say very large font, so try selecting all the text, then press control + shift + N to remove all formatting and return the text to the default settings.

Could be a lot of things, and a lot of factors contribute to this type of JAWS behavior. Try maximizing: alt + space, followed by x. Also, if using Word 2003, open the view menu, make sure that normal is checked. Also in the view menu, make sure that only standard and formatting toolbars are checked within the toolbars submenu. If these suggestions don't work, make sure that you check several different Word Docs to see if this is a consistent problem. Also, restart JAWS. And, does this behavior happen only in already-created documents, or in new ones as well?

My JAWS is saying I have a blank line in my word documents. I know I don't. All my arrowing around just says blank, blank, blank. Sometimes, if I up or down arrow using shift, it'll read what is written in the document.

anyone know what is going on?
