Tom and I were able to make copies for Molly, Duke, Canterbury, and English
Folk Songs today at Office Depot. (Thank you, Tom!) We also discovered that
the ACWE debit card expired in September, so we will need to get that
addressed at some point.
Robert, let me know if you need the scores and I can get them to you. I’ll
hold off on copying the other pieces until after the board meeting, just in
case we decide to change our January 11 start date.

discount on copy service and works at the self service kiosks. Jessica,

Hi all,
Due to circumstances, I’m not going to be able to make copies of the
music for spring. For those of you who haven’t heard, my father passed away
just before Christmas, so I’m a bit preoccupied. And then when I get back
to town I have to bake a cake for a family wedding. Jessica has kindly
offered to work on the copies for me, but if anyone else has time to help,
I’m sure she would appreciate it. So I’m sending this information to
everyone, just in case.
I’ll leave the music at my house for Jessica to pick up this week while
I’m in Louisiana. I’ll also leave the Fed Ex account card, although when I
tried to use it last week I was told we couldn’t use our account with the
self-service copiers anymore. And since the music we’re copying is
copyrighted, we also can’t use their full-service copying. What I would
suggest is getting the ACWE debit card from *Melissa* and using that so
no one is out of pocket for copies. With a copy of the ACWE tax exemption
form, that should also be sufficient to not have to pay taxes on the
copies. We may be able to finagle the discount we’ve been getting for
copies, but that’s less certain.
Since we don’t have an official count of participants for the spring yet,
I’m having to estimate how many copies we’ll need. Based on the most recent
survey and previous seasons, here’s what I’m thinking:
*Scores:* 2 copies, 1 for Robert and 1 for an assistant conductor
*Flutes:* (9 signed up) 5 first, 6 second
*Oboes:* (2 signed up) 3, plus any English horn parts that might exist
*Eb Clarinet:* 1, where the parts exist. They won’t exist for all pieces.
*Clarinet:* (13 signed up) 4 first, 6 second, 6 third
*Alto Clarinet:* 1, where the parts exist. They won’t exist for all
pieces.
*Bass Clarinet:* (2 signed up) 2
*Bassoon:* (1 signed up) 2 total, 1 first and 1 second
*Alto Sax:* (5 signed up) 3 first, 3 second
*Tenor Sax:* (3 signed up) 3
*Baritone Sax:* 1, just in case
*Trumpet:* (5 signed up) 3 first, 3 second, 3 third. ***If a piece has
both cornet and trumpet parts, copy three of each cornet part plus 2 of
each trumpet part.
*Horn:* (5 signed up) 2 copies of each part, or 8 total if fewer than 4
parts
*Trombone:* (9 or 10 signed up) 4 first, 5 second, 3 third
*Euphonium:* (3 signed up) 3 bass clef, 1 treble
*Tuba:* (3 signed up) 4
*String Bass:* 1, just in case
*Harp:* 1, if parts exist
*Percussion:* (6 signed up) 1 copy per instrument on each part. So a
part for snare drum/bass drum/cymbals would need 3 copies. [This is a
little confusing, but I can always make more copies later if needed.]
*Robert:* We have copies of about half the scores now. I can get those
to you either this evening or on my way out of town tomorrow, or I can
leave them with Jessica and you can arrange to get them later. I’ll include
a note about which scores already have copies with the music.
*Also Robert:* Because this is a lot of music to copy, could you
prioritize what we absolutely should have for the first rehearsal and what
might be able to lag behind a week or so? Thanks.
