These will appear if you raise your finger from the screen, as opposed to
keeping it on the screen and sliding your finger to where you need or want to
be.

When I get to say message (SMS or text) screen and the keyboard is there as
I move my finger round the screen extraneous letters seem to appear in the edit
field.
Why is this so?
Is there a means of locating a letter/number/symbal and then moving on to
another character without entering a wrong thing?
