I've seen a few messages over the last few months on another list saying that Solona is often not available. According to these messages, the person who runs it is often not able to devote time to solving captchas. I don't recall if I saw a reason given, such as health problems. If you want a reliable captcha solving solution, you can get one by installing firefox and using Webvisum, which is an automated system. If you want to learn about using firefox and Webvisum, I did a presentation for Accessible World that explains the basics of Firefox use and how to use Webvisum to solve captchas. However, I don't know what information in my presentation still applies in version 4 of Firefox. the presentation was done while version 3 was the latest version. You may want to install version 3.x, which is still available. It would be a good idea to stay current and use version 4 but if all you are going to do is use firefox to solve captchas, it probably doesn't matter which version you use. the link to download and listen to the presentation is: http://tinyurl.com/yl68jc3 Look for the download link at the bottom of the page.
