Alright folks. It seams we are talking at cross purposes. If
double-tapping inserts a full-stop and a space, how do you insert a
space without a full stop then? This is what I do to insert just a space:
- First, I have the typing style set to standard typing.
- I slide my finger on the onscreen keyboard until I find the spacebar
(VoiceOver says space).
- I raise my finger and tap the scream twice.
- A space then is inserted without a full stop.
Isn’t this what everyone does? And if yes, what do you mean by
double-tapping then please?
Sorry to be confused!

Amro

Sorry Ian, how do you mean? Surely for us VoiceOver users double-tapping the
spacebar only inserts a space? Please explain. Double-tapping inserts a full
stop if you are not using VoiceOver. As I said, I used to tap the spacebar
three times to insert a full stop followed by a space.
The three-tapping ceased to work after upgrading to iOS 13 if memory serves. And
I’ve checked the period shortcut in settings>keyboard and it is on.

A double-tap on the spacebar. It works. I have just done it three times.

What is the shortcut to type a full-stop on the iPhone? This used to be a quick
three tabs on the space bar on the onscreen keyboard but this no longer works.
Many thanks.
