Hi Mike.

I've always liked the Moto G range of phones as they run stock android though recently people have been saying they couldn't enable accessibility in terms of talkback without sighted help. this shouldn't be an issue for you though hopefully, all you'd have to do is tap accessibility on the setup screen and go from there. I'd certainly go for one, they haven't changed that much if at all since the Lenovo take over apart from this recent accessibility issue.

cheers,

Mo.

Thanks for all your advice.
Considering Motorola Moto G, partly due to price have to admit. Any opinions?
Will probably try my local Tesco's first. Other shops are further away from me. Though may actually buy from Giffgaff, where my last sim came from.

Hi Mike, Have you thought of trying one of the smart phones in a shop? when ever I am thinking of getting either a phone or tablet, I go to Tesco and ask them to show me one and turn on accessibility so I can try it in the shop before buying. I say Tesco because my experience with other shops is bad. I find these very helpful.

Hello Mo,
Thanks for your speedy response.
For most of the time I get by on the ipad with just the Zoom features, Kindle app, etc. Have used voiceover sometimes but mostly I can get by without it. I find most mobile screens too small to cope with. My wife has iphone but I could not cope it, but she has it set up for herself of course. She has good eyesight.
I can manage the Doro for numbers and text messages, but of course it is unsmart!

Hello Mike.

Do you currently use your iPad with voice over? or magnification? What do you want from a smart phone on a daily basis?

cheers,

Mo.
