Hi Christopher.

I know how wireless headphones work.

I've had them since the days they where big clunky things and only worked 
with IR and then the FM ones came out.  I think I got my first pair in 2000 
and they cost a wopping £120!

WIFI headphones wouldn't suit my requirements.  RE:  my initial post.

I'm looking for portability whilst on the move not around the house.

DJ, have you ever considered wireless headphones? They work by using a
transmitter that transmits either infrared/FM radiowaves and the
headphones "receive" the transmitted signals and convert them to audio
sound that we can hear. I've been using one from Phillips and I love
them. Hope that helps.
