Yes, I've looked again at Outlook today and again there are extra key strokes involved in mail reading ... (a bit of an off-put for me) but I do agree you have more scope and have used it from time to time when I was involved with various groups and more active than I am these days on the computer.

carol: i omitted to answer this point in my reply to Peter's message.i have had no problem using Office 2003 with JAWS from version 6 onwards - I can't comment on versions prior to this as didn't use them with it.David----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 06, 2008 7:47 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: outlook express querySo how to people find reading messages with Outlook and JAWS (please state which version)? these days?I have used Outlook before and do appreciate what Peter's saying but, again, I found the reading of messages (which I did a lot of the time) pretty clumsy in those days.-- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Logue" <plsd@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 06, 2008 12:50 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: outlook express queryI use Outlook and always have done. There's just so much available withinOutlook. Calander for alerted appointments be it a birthday or doctor'sappointment. When such an appointment occurs, a window will appear on yourmonitor and a sound of your choice will alert you to the appointment youhave entered. Outlook Notes, which is just invaluable if someone calls youon the phone and you need an immediate notepad opened in front of you.Control 5 plus control N and its there. Or you can use Notes to store your guide dogs's food ordering processes or Nod32 seriel number or Misc phone number or even a URL link. Open a note, type in a few words and Control F4 the window and it is still saved! How cool is that. Contacts can be simple or complex depending on your need. You can have birthday's, wife's name andcell number, son's name and cell, your place of work and phone number, favourite pub and pub manager, website, email address, etc. Moving OutlookPST files from one computer to another is so simple, too. It copies youremail addresses, your notes, your calander, your inbox and sub folders and can be done in a snap. I think the process of copying your pst files is so easy that you will back it up often. Message rules are simple to use, I haveAccess-uk filters to go to the Access-UK folder. SoundForge to go to theSoundForge folder, The Boys to go to my son's folder, Suzanne to go to my wife's folder. Musicians to go to the Musicians folder etc, and SPAM to go where its supposed to go. I very much like the control you have over Outlook and the fact that it is more secure than OE. You can also use Window Eyes6.1 to read your emails automatically if you put Jaws in sleep mode for Outlook, saves all that say all nonsense. I think Window Eyes 6.1 hasimproved a great deal in this regard. I couldn't possibly go back to OutlookExpress.
