Hi Steve. Thanks for the info, I'll take a look at some Siemens machines although looking at the lifebook range, their far above what we would be willing to spend given their specification which is generally lesser than that of the emilo range although as the name suggests, their probably the tougher machines designed for the traveller. She'd only be looking to take her laptop from place to place, so durability isn't really an issue. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Nutt To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2009 4:01 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: notebook make suggestions Hi Ibrahim, I have had two Siemens Lifebook machines. Siemens were the first to make what one could now call Netbooks, even before the term was coined. They are excellent machines. My wife is in the market for a new laptop computer to replace her netbook which she recently sold. She's looking for something small, light and compact but with everything integrated. She's got her eye on a 13.3 Siemens Amilo model with a 2.4GHZ processor, 4GB memory and a 320GB hard drive as well as dvd burner and integrated sound/graphics. First of all, are Siemens laptops any good? has anyone had experience using one and can give me their opinion? If the answer is negative to the above, what makes of machines should be looking at. The price is an important consideration as we are on a budget. All the best, Ibrahim.
