Hi Andrew,
My problem was not so much that it had no features, but they are not screen
reading features. For example, extensions to the clipboard, while useful,
are not screen reading features at all. I personally feel JAWS has rather
lost its path in life. I have always said, it is not a screen reader, it is
a rather good macro processor.
Just my opinion of course, but I just feel that JAWS is now getting bloated
with all the non-essential features they are adding.

I feel the same way - I looked through the release notes and didn't find
anything which would grab my attention.
I wonder whether screen readers are getting to a point where they are trying
to make people upgrade to new releases until they come to a release that a
lot of people will want to upgrade to (i.e, to support Longhorn)? I am
still running v5 at work and have no issues with it.

Haven't seen anyone commenting on this thread - could it be that we no
longer care very much about new jfw versions because they come so thick and
fast that each on it's own contains little worth talking about?
quick nav keys for word sounds handy particularly when reading large
documents but would we really remember more new keystrokes.
improved performance in adobe acrobat sounds like the single thing that
might make a difference to me day to day.
access to firefox is interesting on the face of it but will it make much
difference.
a nod to the competition with the version that can be run from a pen-drive
although interestingly at no extra cost which might have minor benefits for
a few although given that the authorization still has to exist on each hoste
machine suspect the usefulness is quite limited.
