It literally shows a black screen - no pattern, although it's worth noting that
it doesn't save battery: only by turning down the brightness can you save
battery

Hi all.

Does the screen curtain on the iPhone 6s simply turn off the display, or
does it literally display a pattern when activated?

I wondered if it could be used as a power saving feature if it simply turns
off the screen.
