Thanks Barry H ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Hodgson" <andrew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, March 27, 2005 1:34 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: fat32 or ntfs Hi, There should be no problem - I always format external media of this size as FAT32, as it is more portable on a larger range of devices. If you want to format the drive as NTFS, then you need to copy the contents to a temporary location on the internal drive, do the format, then copy it back over. Thanks. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ali Sent: 27 March 2005 12:08 To: access Subject: [access-uk] fat32 or ntfs Hi, my internal hard drive is formatted as ntfs and the external hard drive is fat32. Would this cause any trouble at all? I have nearly 9 gb of data on the external hard drive and I am using it as a backup drive. How would I format the external hard drive into ntfs without losing the data on it? Using xp home. Thank you.
