Hello David,

As far as setting the time and date is concerned, this can
be done without sight.  Although there are no speech
prompts, the unit beeps with each key press.  There is an
excellent podcast on the Blind Cool tech website showing how
the time and date can be set, also timed recordings.  The
only thing which is totally inaccessible is choosing the
file for the alarm apart from the three default alarms.

Go to the Blind Cool Tech site and search for "Setting the
DS 50 Clock".
