Hi all,
I have my unlocked phone that I bought in a foreign country and I can
easily switch between sim cards from different operators from
different countries. It seems that if one buys a phone with a mobile
operator, the phone will be locked so it is better to buy it directly
from Apple and then go with sim-only deal.

Vodafone shop which I thought was unlocked.
Just waiting now for an email from Vodafone then I can go in to itunes and
re-set it
I am having real difficulty in getting on to plusnet mobile on the web it's
the password that's hard. If I try and use a password jaws nvda does not
read the edit boxes correct so, when I get a pair of eyes on Saturday we can
do it what a damn mess all this is.
Who said things are getting better for totally blind people not me.

Hi John and all,
If one is on a CIM only contract and they bought their handset outright and
unbranded, I believe then the network provider would not have the legal
right nor the means to lock their phone. I have four CIM only contracts with
Vodafone for my wife, children and myself, and when we go abroad we all swop
CIM cards with no issues. I bought the handsets directly from Apple and they
range from iPhone 7 to iPhone X, though I do not think the make and model of
the handset makes the slightest difference.
I am not sure what the score with your handset exactly is, but if Vodafone
has somehow locked it despite that you have bought it unbranded, I would
certainly have a very strong word with them. However, could you had possibly
bought your handset from Vodafone on a contract and then you switched to a
CIM only contract?
Best
Amro
