Subject: [access-uk] basic embossers

Hi
I have a second hand index basic S embosser which used to run well using Cipher braille translator. This was before I changed my PC from XP to XP pro. Now, I have tried using Cipher, Winbrailee 5, and a trial version of Braile maker. I cannot get the embosser to print. If I press the help button on the embosser, it embosses the test sheet OK. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? If it helps it says "basic ready, 4.0" when i switch it on. Advice would be much appreciated.

Unless anyone has more up to date information this is the position as I
understand it.

The sound on the N86 will compare very favourably with the N95 which
wasn't at all bad anyway, I can at least verify that by my own ears.
There are still some issues however which is where potentially there is
a moving target. Depending on what you are going to use the phone for
they may or may not be issues. Areas that remain to be fixed include
the calendar application, email client and the menus in the photos
application.

In large part this is due to Nokia using a new custom control in these
areas which TALKS doesn't pick up. Hopefully they can find a way of
recovering information from it soon so these areas will talk. Otherwise
it is a nice phone to have if you like that sort of design.

Regards.

Hi Folk,
Does anyone have the N86 and if so, would you happen to know how does
the sound quality compare with the n95 and is talksfully functional with
it?
Cheers Brendan
