Hi I am not sure about the sterio bit as long as they both can do
virtually the same thing but when it arrives I will give it a go just
one question how do I find out what the speaker is that I already have?

If you mean to stereo pair them, go into the Alexa app on your smartphone or
tablet, tap more, settings then device settings. You will need to select one
of the Echo Dot speakers you already have, then you will have the option to
make a stereo pairing which creates a group of the speakers and pairs them
together.
Hope this helps, Ibrahim.
