ChrisIs there much software about at the moment with 64 bit drivers? If not would this shortage of usable software limit the practicality of the 64 bit Windows 7 operating system?

can't install 32 bit drivers or drivers that are not signed. Only 64 bit, digitally signed drivers can be installed. This supposedly minimizes the risks of rootkits, malware that hides themselves so that regular antimalware programs can't detect them, unless they have a scanner to detect and clean rootkits.X-archive-position: 31270 X-ecartis-version: Ecartis v1.0.0 Sender: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Errors-to: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx X-original-sender: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Precedence: normal Reply-to: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx List-help: <mailto:ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=help> List-unsubscribe: <access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe> List-software: Ecartis version 1.0.0 List-Id: access-uk <access-uk.freelists.org> X-List-ID: access-uk <access-uk.freelists.org> List-subscribe: <access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=subscribe> List-owner: <mailto:george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> List-post: <mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> List-archive: <//www.freelists.org/archives/access-uk> X-list: access-uk Chris Hallsworth e-mail and Facebook: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 On 06/02/2010 18:04, Barbara Wilson wrote:I am sure some of the more technical people on this list will explain the difference. However, I have a netbook with Windows 7 64 Bit installed and although it has seen only light use, it works fine with Window Eyes and JAWS. I had no problem installing Window Eyes, but I think unless you are using JAWS 11 you need to make sure you download the 64 Bit version from the Freedom Scientific Website. Hope this small bit of information helps.
