Hi Jackie
Wonder how they cope with upstairs like on the landing.

I can just imagine machine falling down the stairs!

I believe you can get lawn mowers that work in a similar way.

But the crux of issue is, can a blind person easily setup
The machines.

Hi Derek

Yes, and you can even time it to start hoovering for you. I don't know how
accessible they are though for setting up. Not sure the dog would care for
it wandering around on its own, but the thought of Bumble and a stray hoover
is rather amusing! (smile).

Nobody admits to having the best vacuum cleaner!

I read there is one that you have sensors
Around the house. And the machine can just get on with the
Job all on its own.

We have a Miele cylinder which works well, is reliable, and reasonably
quiet. We also have a cordless Dyson which picks up well too.

I have both a Henry and Dyson.
Whereas the spare parts for the Dyson don't cost anything, they fail more
frequently than the Henry which gets more use as it is down stairs, and the
Dyson upstairs.
The reason being that the Henry seems to pick up dog hair better than the
Dyson.

Subject: [access-uk] Which vacuum cleaner brand would people recommend?

Hello Everyone.

Please forgive the slightly unusual nature of this post. As i have had 2
zanussi vacuum cleaners blow up over the last few months, i've gone
right off the brand, who insidentally are also part of alectrolux and
AEG. in both cases, the motors failed and caused sparks to eminate from
the cleaner. so i'm on the hunt for a new upright cleaner, preferably
that's easy to push and not too heavy, and if possible not too
expensive. people in my family have owned dysons, but say that the parts
are expensive and its just too much to pay for a vacuum cleaner,
especially these days when nothing seems to last. does anyone have any
thoughts on which brands have lasted them in terms of long term
reliability? this is a medium sized house so it'd be used quite
frequently. any help greatly appreciated.

all the best,

Mo.
