So you can't have both the movy sound and the audio description at the
same time? Slightly annoying as surely bty wearing headset you can't
necearrily hear the movy as good as you would without them?

Quite right. You have left and right balance and a button that inputs
wither the soundtrack or the description. I tend to use it spareingly
as it does spoil the cinematic sound.
