Neither is your answer completely correct. Most government departments have processes in place to provide their own assessments and my understanding is ATW doesn't fund any of it.

not completely. ATW continues to fund assessments for public service
employees, however the public service is expected to pay for that adjustment
100%. This has been the policy for at least 4 years; hopefully our new
coalition government will wake up to the fact that the BBC is nothing other
than a publicly funded service too and apply the same policy!

Good point about ATW. And am I right in thinking that council employees
don't use ATW now? I hope my tax pounds aren't further getting taken by
the VAT man.

They're right. I remember having a similar problem some years ago.The
only way around it would be for you to place the order in your own name.

Hi All
My council has approve some funding for equipment for me.

Does anyone know if my council is right regarding the following.

They say that they cannot order equipment without being charged
VAT.
So they are saying, the workaround this, is for them to transferee
money To my bank account, (individual budget scheme) and then, I order

the kit, and then no VAT would then be payable.

Surely a council can place an order on behalf of A disabled
individual, and still not have to pay VAT.

~What if it was ATW placing the order!
