[access-uk] Uninstalling google desktop with vista

Hi all,
I'm slowly getting to know my laptop running Vista. All sorts of programs have
been installed by the vender notably the Google toolbar and the Google desktop.
I managed to remove the first without problem but can't get rid of the Google
desktop. It insists on running in the background or protest so much when I exit
from it in the system tray that I cannot uninstall it in control pannel ad and
remove programs.
Is there a way of tweaking it to make it less intrusive?
