yes there is a lot of reinstallation particularly for software. If you have
an ilm version of JAWS, later than version 5, you'll have to just lose a
key, you can always get it reset on the freedom scientific website or
through Sight aand Sound. reinstall office, back up your directories
containing documents, say on to cd or DVD. You'll also need your internet
connection details and information related to your email accounts.

Backing up email accounts depends on which email client you use. I don't
know of a way to do the dial-up connection but maybe someone else can help
here. I just set mine up manually when I got a new machine recently.

I think that with a new machine, it is best just to install software
manually from the cd or downloaded file it came on. A pain I know but it
helps insure the cleanest possible install.

Cheers

Graham

Subject: [access-uk] Transferring to a New PC

Hi All

Apologies for the cross posting the more help I can get the better. I am
getting a new PC at the weekend and I am looking for a an idiots guide on
how I can transfer material from my old PC to the new one. The type of
things I want to transfer are my Jaws install, Office documents and a few
other bits of software which I assume I just uninstall from the old and
reinstall on the new PC.
All help and advice is much appreciated
